A Quebec pitcher joins the Eagles – L’

The Trois-Rivières Eagles have reached an agreement with David Gauthier, a 23-year-old left-handed pitcher, in preparation for the next baseball season.

Gauthier played the last campaign with the Acton Vale Castors in the Quebec Major League Baseball.

In 30 innings of work during the regular season, he maintained an earned run average of 3.50 and recorded 38 strikeouts. Then, in 24 innings in the playoffs, he struck out 34 batters in three strikes, while the opponent batted for .150 against him.

“David is a left-handed pitcher with great potential. He has a fast ball that reaches 88 miles per hour and a large repertoire of shots, ”noted Matthew Rusch, manager of the Trois-Rivières Eagles.

It will be a return for him in Mauricie as he developed within the Dragons program at Collège Laflèche. He also becomes the third Quebecer under contract with the Eagles after Raphaël Gladu and Sam Belisle-Springer.

Remember that the formations of the Frontier League can field a maximum of three players of veteran status, a maximum of 10 players of experience status and a minimum of 10 players of rookie status.
