Despite an eventful campaign and ended with an elimination in four games in the second round of the playoffs against the Diamants de Québec, the Aigles Jr found themselves in good shape in the final standings.
Head bird, Rémi Doucet, led his team to second in Sun Life Financial Division with 12 wins and 9 losses. Named coach of the year four times in the Quebec Elite Junior Baseball League (LBJEQ), he is the coach with the most wins in the history of the Eagles Jr.
Mike Lachance and Steeve Ager, assistant coaches, are recognized for their involvement with the organization and the Mauritian community, both possessing great expertise in player development. Lachance oversees the Eagles development program, which is made up of eight teams, from Moustique AA to Junior Élite. Ager is an excellent trainer at Baseball Quebec and with young people in the region.
Derek Marchand, previously a pitcher for the Eagles Jr., also remains in the family as a pitching instructor.
Lépine back to the fold
Les Aigles Jr also appointed Matthieu Lépine as governor. The former receiver returns home to represent the organization to the LBJEQ.
“We are very happy to have such a good team of coaches, headed by a leader and a winner, Rémi Doucet. Their return gives us stability within the Juniors and the arrival of Matthieu Lépine, solidity. Like many other former players, Matthieu is back with us and it’s fun that it stays in the family bubble! ”Said René Martin, general manager of the Trois-Rivières Eagles.
