COVID-19: 26 New Cases In Mauricie

Over the past 24 hours, Mauricie and Center-du-Québec have experienced an increase of 26 and 41 new positive cases, respectively, for a regional total of 67. In return, 79 people have recovered from COVID-19.

However, two deaths occurred in a community accommodation resource and in a hospital center.

There are new cases in the MRC des Chenaux (+1), the MRC de Mékinac (+1), La Tuque (+2), Trois-Rivières (+16) and Shawinigan (+6).

In terms of hospitalizations, the CIUSSS observed an increase of 2 users, bringing the total to 47 hospitalizations. The situation nevertheless remains stable in the intensive care sector with 5 people hospitalized.

Outbreak situation in the CIUSSS MCQ and ENPQ facilities

There are currently 4 emerging care units at the Center hospitalier affilié universitaire régionale (CHAUR) in Trois-Rivières. Among these, the cardiology unit (4C) and the specialized medicine and surgery unit (5C) which have not identified any new cases since yesterday.

At the COVID unit (4N), an additional staff member tested positive for COVID-19, as well as at the general medicine unit (2N) which also counts 1 more infected user.

Finally, a new outbreak broke out among the staff of the designated temporary accommodation center located at the National Police School of Quebec (ENPQ) in Nicolet. A total of 7 staff members tested positive and were taken out of work for their isolation.
