DALY CITY – A 40-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run collision on Thanksgiving in Daly City, police said.
The collision was reported at 8:15 pm on Nov. 26 on Geneva Avenue, just west of Bayshore Boulevard, the Daly City Police Department said in a news release Wednesday.
Police said the victim was walking across Bayshore Boulevard toward the Mylo Hotel when he was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Geneva Avenue toward Bayshore Boulevard. After the collision, the vehicle swerved toward oncoming traffic and nearly hit another vehicle. The suspect vehicle, police said, did not stop at the scene.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office will release his identity once it has been confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
The suspect vehicle is possibly a 2011 to 2014 Toyota Sienna, said police. The vehicle likely has damage to the front passenger side, including a broken headlight.
