For the period between December 30 and January 3, Trois-Rivières police officers responded to 30 citizen denunciation calls.
A total of 25 of them concerned banned gatherings. Of these, 19 were found to be unfounded.
The police, however, issued eight warnings in the other situations. Thus, no statement of offense or general offense report was drawn up by the police for this period.
The other calls received were related to the awareness of young people who did not wear the mask in an ice rink shelter, the verification of a place of worship for the respect of sanitary measures, the respect of quarantine by a couple and for the sale of a non-essential product by a merchant.
The Trois-Rivières Police Department says it is satisfied with the results of police interventions with regard to COVID-19 and the compliance with instructions by the vast majority of the population.
The Police Directorate recalls that the assembly prohibition measures remain in force until otherwise notified, so that the police will remain attentive to compliance with these measures.
