GILROY – Police were asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect after an injury hit-and-run collision, authorities said Sunday.
In a statement, police said officers and firefighters responded to Broadway and Wayland Lane on the city’s Westside neighborhood just after 11:30 am for a report of a victim, and found a 48-year-old man lying in the street.
The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of major injuries, and his condition was not immediately available Sunday night.
Investigators soon realized the man had been struck by a suspect vehicle that fled the scene before their arrival.
Anyone with information should call Gilroy police at 408-846-0350, and persons who seek anonymity may call a police tip line at 408-846-0330.
