Back in 2004, when Donald Trump was just a blowhard Manhattan real estate mogul, he boasted on Howard Stern’s radio show about his desire to create a “power dynasty” that would unite in marriage his pretty young daughter Ivanka with Tom Brady, the new Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the New England Patriots.
“I know it’s weird, but Trump wanted that,” Stern recounted to Brady in an interview on his show in April, according to the Daily Mail. “He wanted Tom Brady to, let’s face it, (have sex with) Ivanka and form a relationship, a power dynasty. You know that, you know I’m not making that up. ”
Brady insisted to Stern that he never dated Ivanka Trump. The quarterback, of course, eventually married supermodel Gisele Bundchen. Ivanka Trump, meanwhile, formed a different sort of power dynasty by marrying Jared Kushner, the scion of his father’s real estate empire.
While Tom Brady and Ivanka Trump have pursued very eventful but decidedly separate life paths over the past 16 years, they may soon be moving into each other’s social orbit by becoming neighbors in Miami, according to a report by Page Six.
In fact, they may be very close neighbors – on the tiny but very tony Indian Creek Island, an ultra-exclusive gated community in Miami’s Biscayne Bay. Page Six reported Thursday that Brady and Bundchen had purchased a $ 17 million estate on the island, which is known as “Billionaire’s Bunker.”
Earlier this week, Page Six reported that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have purchased a $ 30 million lot on the island. They presumably will build a waterfront mansion that will become their new home.
They are soon to leave their jobs as White House senior advisers when Donald Trump’s presidency ends on Jan. 20, and reports say they don’t expect to find a warm welcome among the liberal social elite in their former hometown of New York City.
Brady and Bundchen already live at least part-time in Florida, where the six-time Super Bowl winner for the Patriots now plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Page Six said the couple have been renting Derek Jeter’s sprawling mansion in Tampa, but they won’t move into their new Indian Creek Island property right away.
That’s because they plan to demolish the house on the island and build an environmentally friendly mansion, Page Six reported. “They’re both avid design fans, with Gisele particularly keen on ensuring all their properties are ecologically sound,” Page Six wrote.
“They like to build from the ground up,” a source added to Page Six.
On Indian Creek Island, Brady and Bundchen, along with Trump and Kushner, should be guaranteed lots of privacy. The island, which holds the reputation as “the world’s most exclusive municipality,” has an 18-hole golf course in its center, but only 34 homes and about 42 residents.
It also has its own private 13-person police force, and the island is only accessible by a single bridge with a guarded gatehouse, the Daily Mail reported.
The island also is famously Trump-loving, with the Miami Herald reporting that 79 percent of its voting residents cast ballots for Trump in the Nov. 3 election. The island’s conservative leanings may be OK with Brady, who at one time was friends with Trump and routinely ducked questions about whether he voted for him. Bundchen, on the other hand, is known for her progressive political views and at one point suggested that she and her husband never voted for Trump.
Meanwhile, Page Six also reported this week that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner should have other close family members as Miami neighbors.
Jared Kushner’s younger brother, Joshua Kushner, and his wife, supermodel and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss, spent $ 23.5 million on an eight-bedroom estate in nearby Miami Beach. Kushner and Kloss’s new two-story mansion features a pool and wine cellar and is about 10 minutes away from Ivanka and Jared’s new property.
Page Six reported that the Miami real estate market has become red hot for luxury buyers who don’t appear to have at all been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Washington Post recently reported that the recession and job losses have mostly affected low-wage workers.
Nelson Gonzalez, a senior vice president of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty, told Page Six that the Miami market has gone “crazy” over the past few months.
“Everyone wants to be in Miami – they’re coming from New York and California,” Gonzalez said. “There are a lot of hedge fund managers and Silicon Valley buyers who have moved down here and with Goldman Sachs looking to set up shop, it’s only going to get busier.”
