Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he envisions forward Alen Smailagic as 3-point shooting big man, and the second-year pro hopes to make that reality thanks to his offseason focus. During a news conference Tuesday, Smailagic said he has been working on his shooting with Seth Cooper, player development coach. The Serbian big man also mentioned his pick-and-roll work with all-star guard Stephen Curry.
It’s been a turbulent year for the young player. He said the most difficult part about his rookie campaign was the injury early to his ankle. His first NBA campaign was also cut short because of the coronavirus pandemic. He didn’t play in the Orlando bubble, but he did catch the games that featured almost no crowds.
